Inova Fairfax Hospital utilizes the expertise of "intensivists," board-certified, Inova-employed physicians, along with physician assistants and nurse practitioners to provide specialized care to patients admitted to Inova Fairfax Hospital's Intensive Care Unit. Members of this team provide daily evaluations and collaborate with other physicians and clinicians on the patient's care team.
Advanced lung disease and lung transplant
Inova's Advanced Lung Disease and Transplant Program offers highly specialized evaluation and treatment for serious lung disease. Our clinical experts offer clinics for advanced lung disease and are nationally recognized for excellence in lung transplantation. Ongoing research seeks the latest treatment options to delay or forestall the need for a lung transplant or offer treatment options to patients not eligible for transplantation.
Thoracic Oncology Program
Inova Thoracic Oncology Program offers new treatments and new hope for people with lung cancer, cancer of the esophagus and other serious thoracic conditions. The program is the only fully-integrated thoracic oncology service in Northern Virginia and builds on the national reputation of Inova Comprehensive Cancer and Research Institute, the largest cancer program in Virginia and the Baltimore-Washington metro area.
Inova's life-supporting and life-enhancing respiratory care services are provided to patients with disorders of the cardiopulmonary system. Respiratory care is given by licensed practitioners under qualified medical direction. Services include diagnostic testing, therapeutics, pulmonary rehabilitation and monitoring.
