Inova BabyNET

Inova BabyNET is a comprehensive care management program for the workplace designed to improve all aspects of pregnancy and lactation.

Maternity costs are among the highest health costs business face each year. Resulting primarily from preterm birth, costs are incurred through insurance claims, missed workdays, decreased productivity and staff turn-over. On average, each preterm birth costs for an employer are:

• $58,000 for delivery
• $41,610 for first year of life
• $2,766 in lost productivity

Each preterm birth costs an employer an average of $102,376.

Businesses that reduce preterm births demonstrate lower overall healthcare costs primarily due to lower NICU days and lower complication rates, lower rates of long-term infant complications, reduced absenteeism and high rates of satisfaction with the programs.
