Alita Mishra, MD
Alita Mishra, MD, is a lead physician at Inova Executive Health
Center. Dr. Mishra also serves as the clerkship director of internal
medicine in the Department of Medicine. In her academic
role, she is deeply involved in clinical education of medical
students from Virginia Commonwealth University School of
Medicine, Inova campus, along with other affiliate programs
from Georgetown and George Washington University schools
of medicine.
In addition, Dr. Mishra also serves as a part-time hospitalist in internal medicine. This allows her to pursue her interests in the care of hospitalized patients and medical consult service.
Dr. Mishra is board certified in internal medicine and received her postdoctoral training at Georgetown University School of Medicine. She joined Inova Fairfax Hospital in 2003 upon the completion of her residency training. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor society. She has also completed professional development work through the Stanford Faculty Development Program for Clinical Teaching.
Dr. Mishra has received numerous excellence awards in medical school and residency. More recently, she was voted as the top clinical educator in her department in both 2006 and 2007 by the medical students from the VCU School of Medicine, Inova campus. Dr. Mishra's other areas of interest include women's health and preventive medicine.
