Ellen McInerney, MD
Ellen R. McInerney, MD, is a lead physician at Inova Executive Health Center. She also serves as a primary
care physician at Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute.
This is Dr. McInerney's second association with both Inova Health System as well as the Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute, where she previously served as Assistant Director of Medical Services.
Dr. McInerney completed her residency training in internal medicine at Georgetown University Hospital and is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. During her first association with Inova Health System, she served as clinical educator and hospitalist at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
Dr. McInerney completed the Stanford Faculty Development Program for Clinical Teaching and received an academic appointment as assistant professor of medicine at Georgetown University. Over the years, Dr. McInerney has had the opportunity to practice in a variety of settings including private practice with the Scripps Mercy Medical Group in San Diego as well as in the Baptist Memorial Hospital System in Memphis.
Dr. McInerney is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. In 2003, in recognition for her work with political refugees, she was honored with the United Nations Association of the National Capital Area Human Rights Award.
