At one time or another, most people seek the advice of an attorney. It may be to review documents, handle family law or real estate matters, or help with wills and estate planning. People also may need preventive legal assistance, such as clarifying their contractual responsibility to avoid going to court.

Inova Employee Assistance (IEA) offers the following benefits through its nationwide legal network:

• one free in-person or telephone consultation with a network attorney annually per each legal matter
• discounts of 25 percent on the general fees of the network legal firm

The referral network does not include labor attorneys. Legal services do not extend to employees pursuing legal action against an employer or in regard to any employer-provided benefit, such as health insurance. Also, some legal services may involve additional costs to the employee.
