Plan Now to Protect your Workforce from the Flu

With summer just around the corner, flu probably isn’t on your mind. Yet,
like clockwork, flu cases begin to surface in our area every fall.
Advance planning can lessen much of the flu bug’s bite. Beginning in August,
employers can schedule workplace flu clinics by visiting http://www.inova.org/
workplacehealth/index.jsp.
Inova “Fight the Flu” corporate clinics will begin in November, which coincides
with the CDC recommendation for the general population.
While flu shots are the best protection, we can also help ourselves avoid illness in other ways. Encouraging strict hand washing protocols is one simple way for employers to help reduce flu transmission in the workplace. Sept. 17-23 is Clean Hands Week.
