Karyn Flannagan, PsyD, serves as Vice President and Administrator, Inova Behavioral Health Services. She oversees and manages all operational functions for the behavioral health service line and is a clinical psychologist.
Before joining Inova, Karyn served as Senior Director of Behavioral Health Services at Novant Health, University of Virginia, where she was responsible for the oversight, growth and development of three acute care hospital primary service areas for behavioral health, while also formally serving for the past two years as the system leader for diversity and inclusion. Previous to this, she held several leadership roles of increasing responsibility, including managing several outpatient services, provider recruitment and acute care inpatient services at Prince William Medical Center.
Karyn has given back to the local Northern Virginia community by serving as a board member for the Manassas City Public Schools Education Foundation.
A native of Queensland, Australia, she received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, Alliant International University in San Francisco. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in women’s studies.
Karyn is married to a retired U.S. Army colonel and is kept busy with twin boys.
