As a Diagnostic Imaging Technical Specialist, you will provide clinical services in multiple modalities, according to Imaging practice standards, with equal time spent in each modality, based on OU needs, while acting as a resource to Imaging Students and other technologists to ensure optimal department functions. To help achieve our mission, you will administer sound patient care practices according to hospital and department policies/procedures while ensuring the safety of patients. Your ability to demonstrate independent judgment necessary to support an effective work environment is required


Job Responsibilities

  • Performs proficiently in each modality as required with equal amount of time spent in each based on OU needs.
  • Communicates effectively with patient to obtain clinical history/informed consent from patient or patient's chart to assist the physician in optimizing the performance and interpretation of the examination, as evidenced by the exam results.
  • Demonstrates the effective use of radiation protection procedures with collimation devices and protective shielding, as evidenced by the incidence reports.
  • Maintains an orderly, safe, and clean environment. Ensures rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies and has required supplies readily available for procedures, as evidenced by customer satisfaction.
  • Assists in the development, review and implementation of policies and procedures as evidenced by compliance.
  • Exhibits excellent communication skills that are clear and concise as evidenced by supportive teamwork and collaboration within all levels of the imaging structure.
  • Demonstrates creativity in section operation skills, decision-making skills, and contingency planning preparation as evidence by effective problem resolution

Additional Requirements:

  • Work schedule: Day Shift Full - time 
  • Education: Graduate of accredited school/program of radiography
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Imaging experience as a Rad tech in a hospital/healthcare environment; Must be able to perform in 2 or more modalities with at least even amount of time spent rotating in each annually based on the needs of the OU.
  • Certification: ARRT registered as a Radiologic Technologist. Must obtain advanced certification in applicable modality within 1 year of training; BLS
