As an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) Pro Re Nata (PRN), you will provide knowledgeable, caring and effective clinical practice and care coordination in collaboration with patients, families and all members of the healthcare delivery team. To help achieve our mission, you will coordinate all Infusion activities to ensure the delivery of compassionate, safe and quality care that is compliant with professional practice standards. Your ability to serve as a liaison between physicians, staff and administration to improve/maintain quality and safe patient care is of vital importance. Communicating effectively and working cooperatively with others while demonstrating respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines is expected. Providing comprehensive patient and family education such as information about treatments, medications, chemotherapy and other items is required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Keeps patients and families informed about all aspects of the plan of care.
  • Ensures improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in lifelong learning.
  • Works with members of the healthcare team to provide patients and families with appropriate resources and support.
  • Serves as a resource, preceptor and mentor while demonstrating leadership skills in decision making and problem solving.



BSN  - highly preferred. If ADN must obtain BSN within 2 years of hire. 

Two years of RN nursing experience to include at least six months of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting

Basic Life Support – American Heart

Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification (or must obtain within two years from date of hire).

Obtain the chemo card within the first three months of hire--- chemotherapy card from either the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or the Association of Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurses


Required to obtain 12 oncology CEUs yearly until certification obtained.

Licensed as an RN or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.
