What’s your vision of the perfect work environment? You’ll find it at Inova.
While Inova Health System comprises a large number of care sites and hospitals, every Inova facility is guided by a core set of values and behaviors that support our mission to provide world-class healthcare – every time, every touch – to each person in every community we have the privilege to serve. Whether working in a fast-paced trauma center or a community outpatient setting (and everything in between), our values and actions are the common threads that make us one Inova team.
Flu and COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements for Team Members
As the leading nonprofit healthcare provider in Northern Virginia, and a trusted voice in the Washington, DC area, we have taken a leadership position with respect to how we can most effectively do our part to end COVID-19. Driven by our mission and our commitment to team member safety, as well as studying the most current scientific information via the CDC, Inova Health System requires all newly hired team members to be vaccinated for COVID-19 within 60 days of their hire date.
In addition, Inova continues to require an annual flu shot. Limited exceptions may be discussed with your manager.
Inova’s mission is to provide world-class healthcare – every time, every touch – to each person in every community we have the privilege to serve.
As a not-for-profit health system, our commitment is to meet the healthcare needs and improve the health of the communities we serve. We work in innovative ways to meet the healthcare challenges of today, while striving to meet the needs of the future.
Recognizing that research and innovation are vital elements to providing world-class patient care, Inova participates in a large number of cutting-edge clinical trials and research projects. Our diverse clinical activities make us a first-class location for scientific research.
Our commitment to ensure high-quality care is strengthened by our range of rigorous professional education programs to improve medical practice skills and patient outcomes. Inova's work extends beyond the walls of our hospitals and outpatient centers. We bring disease-prevention programs, health and exercise classes, and improved access to care for vulnerable children and adults directly to the community through our many outreach programs and partnerships.
At Inova, our 19,000 team members demonstrate their commitment every day to providing the community with expert, world-class, compassionate patient care.
Inova is an Anti-Racist Health System
Racism is a public health crisis that continues to damage our communities, patients, families and team members. Systemic racism perpetuates inequities in education, employment, housing, environmental quality, nutrition, health, and, of course, healthcare. All of these create barriers to living a full and healthy life.
At Inova, we denounce racism and discrimination in all forms.
In keeping with our mission to provide world-class healthcare to every person in every community we have the privilege to serve, Inova commits to continuing our active role in advancing long overdue change toward anti-racism and anti-discrimination. This includes continuing to critically examine and address our own systems and outcomes, partnering with our communities on actions that promote and support health equity, and advocating efforts for broader change.
Additionally, we have zero tolerance for racist or discriminatory behavior at any Inova facility. Anyone witnessing or experiencing an incident should report it immediately to Inova staff or security. We reserve the right to discharge violators and revoke visitation privileges.
Inova’s Anti-Harassment Policy
Inova defines harassment as any unwelcome conduct, behavior, speech or action, whether verbal, physical, or visual, that is based upon a team member's protected status, such as age, sex, color, race, ancestry, religion, genetic information, national origin, medical condition, physical or mental disability, marital status, pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, citizenship status, or protected status. Harassing behavior has the potential to interfere with a team member's work performance or to create an intimidating, hostile or offensive work environment.
