About Catherine Crone, MD
Catherine Crone, MD, serves as Acting Medical Director, Inova Women's Behavioral Health Services and Vice Chair for Education, Department of Psychiatry, Inova Fairfax Medical Campus and is an Associate Professor at George Washington School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry.
Dr. Crone is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Psychiatry and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry/Psychosomatic Medicine with clinical, research and publication interests pertaining to the care of patients with comorbid medical and psychiatric concerns.
She joined Inova in 1992 and has held clinical, teaching and leadership roles in behavioral health.
Dr. Crone earned her medical degree from Thomas Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, PA. She completed her psychiatry residency at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX, and the University of Chicago, Chicago, IL, followed by a fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, Georgetown University/Inova Fairfax Hospital.
She is very engaged in psychiatric education through work with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. She presents at national conferences and has a number of scientific publications. She is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, Academy of Consultation Liaison Psychiatry and American College of Psychiatrists.
