About John Cochran, MD
Dr. John Cochran is board certified in neurology, clinical neurophysiology and sleep medicine. He has been a member of the medical staff at Inova Alexandria and Inova Fairfax hospitals since 1978 and has been practicing privately in Northern Virginia for over 30 years.
Dr. Cochran speaks regionally and nationally on his areas of interest, which include stroke, sleep disorders and pain. He is also a faculty member of the VCU School of Medicine Inova Campus. In addition to holding numerous positions on the board of Inova's Neuroscience Program, Dr. Cochran served as the principal investigator in over 85 studies involving stroke, headache, sleep, pain, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.
Dr. Cochran's goal is to utilize his skills and expertise to help patients manage their conditions. His approach includes compassionate understanding of each patient's needs while developing a relationship that is personal and long lasting. A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. Cochran currently lives in Oakton, Virginia. In his spare time, he and his wife volunteer with dog rescue organizations.
