About Monique St. Pierre, PT, DPT
Monique is a Senior Physical Therapist for the Inova Springfield clinic. She has experience across multiple specialties to include: acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, health/wellness programs, sports medicine and private practice. The focus of her clinical practice at Inova is in outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine and manual therapy. She is a Certified Sports and Conditioning Specialist, Certified Graston provider, trained in Selective Functional Movement Assessments and trained in Blood Flow Restriction therapy. She is also committed to her profession as a certified APTA clinical instructor to educate and mentor undergraduate and doctoral students as they seek out their professional degrees through clinicals in the physical therapy field. She is active within Inova outside of her clinical hours as part of the Inova Physical Therapy Student Committee and Marketing Committee and is also an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Monique received her Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis in exercise physiology from the University of Arkansas, where she worked as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor for collegiate athletes, weekend warriors and geriatrics. Once she decided to obtain a career in physical therapy she attended the University of Central Arkansas for her Doctorate in Physical Therapy where she achieved an award of excellence in research and an award in excellence service for community volunteerism. More recently she has achieved the Carlton Jones Clinical Educator Award from the Virginia Commonwealth University.
Monique's passion is to give individuals back their spirit and drive after sustaining injuries and to educate and prevent others to avoid injuries in order to participate in activities they love through individualized patient care.
Monique also works outside of physical therapy as a health and fitness talent where she choreographs home workout programs for all levels of fitness and life. She enjoys giving back to our community through the Junior League of Northern Virginia in promoting volunteerism and the development of leadership in women. She enjoys anything outdoors, such as participating in half marathons and obstacle course races. She is a huge Razorback football and Saints fan, and also enjoys food, traveling and being surrounded by her husband, son, friends and family.
