About Rushi H. Vyas, MD

Rushi H. Vyas, MD, is a psychiatrist who is board certified in psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine. He serves as the Assistant Director of the Consultation-Liaison Department of Inova Behavioral Health Services, inpatient services at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

He is also a Clerkship Director of Psychiatry at University of Virginia and is an attending supervisor for George Washington University consultation-liaison psychiatry fellows with additional experience supervising l psychiatry fellows with focus in perinatal care at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

He joined Inova in 2018, and his clinical and research interests include women's behavioral health, anxiety, postpartum depression and mental illness.

He has received numerous teaching awards including being named Top Educator in psychiatry by Virginia Commonwealth University Medical School, Inova Campus as well as overall top educator via Virginia Commonwealth University’s Golden Apple award.

Dr. Vyas earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA. He then completed his residency in psychiatry and a fellowship in psychosomatic medicine from the George Washington University. Prior, he earned a degree of science in biology from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.

He holds memberships in the Academy of Consult Liaison Psychiatry, the American Psychiatry Association, the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association.
