Senay Ghidei

Senay, Clinical Research Associate Lead, joined the Research Office at the Department of Orthopedic Trauma in 2022 with more than seven years of research and leadership experience. He supports and oversees research coordinates as well as help initiate and manage new and ongoing studies. Currently, he anchors two ongoing clinical trial studies that intend to compare the outcome of using two different antibiotics during definitive fixation of tibial as well as benefits of using over-the-counter painkillers following Intramedullary nail of tibial.

Senay works eagerly and enthusiastically to help his team deliver and provide evidence-based care for its patients. He believes completion and publication of these and other studies will help orthopedic trauma surgeons and patients all over the world determine the best care and outcome during hospitalization.

Inova’s orthopedic trauma surgeons collaborate with other Inova specialists to facilitate a patient’s treatment and recovery. Other key team members may include:

  • Physical therapists to provide exercise therapy and functional training
  • Occupational therapists to treat identified limitations and/or teach other strategies to compensate for loss of function
  • Case managers to help the patient and their loved ones make plans for additional care once discharged from Inova
  • Anesthesiologists to provide pain control and management for the patient before, during and after surgery
  • Pain service clinicians when routine methods of pain control are not effective
