Inova Fairfax Hospital has been a teaching hospital for more than 45 years. Currently, there are 150 residents and approximately 70 medical students rotating through many of the hospital departments each month. Building on this strong educational foundation, we expanded our educational offerings through a strategic partnership with Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine, developing the first regional branch medical campus in Northern Virginia.

Twenty-four third-year and fourth-year medical students attend our branch school located on Inova Fairfax Hospital's campus. The combination of a diverse patient population, state-of-the-art hospital facilities and a committed teaching faculty has created an exceptional learning environment for our medical students.
