Maggie SwietlikMarguerite Swietlik, DNP, NEA-BC, RN-BC, CPHIMS, serves as VP, Chief Nursing Informatics Officer at Inova Health System.

Dr. Swietlik lends her expertise to leading multidisciplinary teams in the transformation of the electronic health record (EHR) to improve clinical care delivery, promote better patient outcomes and decrease healthcare costs. She has extensive experience, education and certification in leadership and the field of Nursing Informatics including: Nurse Executive-Advanced (NEA-BC), Nursing Informatics (RN-BC), and Certified Professional in Health Information Management Systems (CPHIMS). She served as a member of HIMSS Innovation Committee (2013-2015) and is a national presenter on Informatics and health IT topics.

With expertise in using the EHR for research and clinical transformation, Dr. Swietlik's primary area of clinical interest focuses using the EHR to provide evidence-based care recommendations that lead to improved clinical outcomes; and using decision support tools to identify opportunities to decrease the burden of nursing and clinician documentation.

Dr. Swietlik earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Villanova University, a Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Vanderbilt University. She also holds an Executive Leader in Health IT certificate from the University of Colorado.
