Roberta Tinch, MHA, FACHE, is a Senior Vice President of Inova Health System, President of Inova Mount Vernon Hospital and Vice President and Administrator, Inova Medicine Service Line.
Roberta was named one of Modern Healthcare's Top 25 Emerging Leaders in Healthcare. She oversees the operations of Inova Mount Vernon Hospital - a 225-bed acute care hospital and is the Administrator of the Inova Medicine Service Line across the entire Inova Health System of 24,000 team members.
She is an accomplished healthcare executive with over 16 years of experience. Her area of expertise includes leading hospital operations, system level strategy development, and developing physician partnerships. She is accomplished in enhancing team engagement and the patient experience.
In 2022, her facility achieved its first designation as a Magnet Accredited Facility for Nursing Excellence, maintained its Leapfrog Grade "A" designation since 2014, and earned a 5-star rating by CMS two years in a row, among many other honors. In 2023, she expanded access for inpatient behavioral health from 30 to 50 beds to meet a growing community need for services and added a 32 bed Critical Illness Recovery Hospital inside of her acute care facility. Prior to joining Inova, she led at HCA Healthcare for over ten years.
Roberta has a strong commitment to communities in which she lives and works. She holds several board and leadership seats to include Chair of Families Forward of Virginia statewide board, Chair of the Mt. Vernon Springfield Chamber of Commerce, and is the Chair for the Northern Virginia Urban League. She has done extensive volunteer work with the YMCA, the March of Dimes annual March for Babies and with ACTS in Prince William County.
She holds a master of health administration degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and a bachelor of arts in anthropology from the University of Virginia. In her downtime, she enjoys spending time with her girls, live music, great food and wine, and traveling.
