All new residents are expected to attend a formal orientation program during the first 6-8 weeks of the residency. The orientation will include: Inova Health System orientation, computer training, site training and operations of all three Pharmacy Plus locations.
Rotations are typically longitudinal, varying from 3 to 10 months in length.

In addition to the optional Teaching and Learning Certificate, the resident will have the opportunity to precept an APPE student during the Specialty Pharmacy rotation, in the spring of the residency year. Opportunities for patient education, staff and other team member education, oral and/or written, are available during many of the rotations as the need arises.
