I chose Inova Fairfax Medical Campus because: I wanted to train at a program that would challenge me clinically while surrounding me with people who are invested in my growth. As a tertiary care center that serves a large and diverse population, I believe it is the ideal environment to build the clinical foundation and confidence needed for my career.

I chose Inova Fairfax Medical Campus because: it provides the opportunity to train at a high-acuity Level I Trauma Center while caring for a diverse patient population alongside a team committed to collaboration, growth, and mentorship. As a pharmacy student, my experiences at Inova allowed me to see firsthand the dedication of the pharmacy team to patient care, education, and professional development. The supportive culture, emphasis on clinical excellence, and diverse learning experiences make Inova the ideal place for me to continue growing as a clinical pharmacist and prepare for my future career.

I chose Inova Fairfax Medical Campus because: of its large academic medical center environment, high-acuity patient population, and the opportunity to practice at the top of my license while rotating through a diverse range of specialty areas. After completing my PGY1 here, I knew that I wanted to stay for a PGY2 in critical care because of the supportive culture, outstanding preceptors and mentors, and opportunities to continue developing as a critical care pharmacist by caring for some of the most medically complex patients.

I chose Inova Fairfax Medical Campus because: IFMC is where I trained as a student and where I've grown as a resident, and it's shaped the kind of pharmacist I'm becoming. What stood out during my PGY1 was how the team balanced holding me to a high standard with genuinely supporting me along the way. As a Level 1 trauma center, we see infectious disease cases that are often complicated and high-stakes, and working through them is a big part of why I want to specialize in ID. Staying for my PGY2 with IFMC means continuing that work in a place I already know brings out my best.

I chose Inova Fairfax Medical Campus because: what stood out most to me about IFMC during my rotations was the people. I was fortunate to learn from preceptors who were dedicated to teaching and invested in my success. Combined with the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population at a Level I Trauma Center, IFMC provides an environment where I can continue to grow while exploring my interests in Emergency Medicine and Infectious Diseases.

As a Level I Trauma Center with a diverse and medically complex patient population, Inova provides exceptional opportunities to strengthen my clinical skills in high-acuity settings while pursuing my passion for emergency medicine. After interviewing with the program, I knew Inova was a place where I would be challenged, supported, and encouraged to reach my full potential.

I chose Inova Fairfax Medical Campus because: I was drawn to the hospital’s high acuity patient population and the breadth of its rotation experiences. I wanted to train in an environment that would challenge me clinically while also providing a well-rounded foundation in emergency medicine. I was looking for a program with strong pediatric emergency services, meaningful exposure to behavioral health, and a robust toxicology experience. Those opportunities, combined with the chance to care for a diverse and complex patient population, made Inova Fairfax especially appealing to me.

I chose Inova Fairfax Medical Campus because: it felt like a place where I could grow both as a pharmacist and as a future leader in health-system pharmacy. Throughout the interview process, I was struck by the collaborative culture, the genuine investment in resident development, and the opportunities to be involved in meaningful system-level initiatives. My professional interests are in health-system pharmacy practice and improving the systems that support safe, effective patient care. I was excited by the opportunity to learn within an organization that values innovation, continuous improvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Inova offered the ideal environment to develop these interests while working alongside dedicated pharmacists and healthcare professionals who are passionate about making a difference for patients and the health system as a whole.
