About Afrooz Ardestani, MD

Dr. Afrooz Ardestani is a specialty care cardiologist board certified in cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology, adult comprehensive echocardiography and internal medicine. She joined Inova Medical Group with more than 14 years of clinical experience. Her expertise is in general cardiology, especially in cardiovascular imaging, preventive cardiology, lipid disorder and women's heart health.

Her research interests are in the areas of preventive cardiology and cardiovascular epidemiology and cardiac imaging. She has authored several presentations and peer-review publications.

Dr. Ardestani became interested in cardiology because she believes that many people are not aware of their cardiovascular risks. Through her patient-centered approach, her goal is to help her patients understand their cardiovascular health and provide them with preventive care and treatment measures so they are empowered to carry out a healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Ardestani resides in Bethesda, Maryland with her husband and son. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her family, paint and travel.
