About Svetolik Djurkovic, MD

Svetolik Djurkovic, MD, is critical care physician who provides care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit at Inova Fairfax Hospital. Dr. Djurkovic's clinical interests are severe infections and respiratory failure. He is board certified in critical care medicine, infectious diseases and internal medicine.

Dr. Djurkovic's goal with his patients is to treat their acute and often life-threatening conditions and also to help their families, especially during the most acute phase of the patient's disease. His prized possession is a rock given to him by a patient who survived cardiac arrest with "Hope" inscribed on it. 

A native of Slovenia, Dr. Djurkovic currently resides in Southern Maryland with his wife and 3 sons. In his spare time he likes to read and hike with his family.
