About Amin Benyounes, MD
Dr. Amin Benyounes is a board-certified medical oncologist who specializes in thoracic and sarcoma malignancies. His main areas of expertise are lung cancers and sarcomas. He is part of the Inova thoracic oncology team, which includes thoracic surgeons, interventional pulmonologists, a thoracic radiologist, a thoracic pathologist and a lung cancer nurse navigator. The thoracic team meets on a weekly basis to discuss multi-disciplinary treatment plans for each individual patient. He is currently the lead medical oncologist for the Inova thoracic oncology program.
Dr. Benyounes is also deputy director of the molecular tumor board. The molecular tumor board meets twice a week to discuss genetic information harvested from the patient’s tumor and proposes a treatment that is tailored to each patient’s genetic information.
Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Benyounes worked as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD.
