About Assad A. Munis, DO

Dr. Assad Munis is a specialty care physician board certified in internal medicine at Inova Health System. He joined Inova in 2022 and has been practicing since 2016.

Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Munis started his career at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in the backyard of his alma mater, Virginia Tech, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in human nutrition, foods and exercise. He then completed his internal medicine residency, as well as a gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship, at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in the northern suburbs of Chicago.

Dr. Munis’ clinical areas of interest include esophageal diseases, abdominal and stomach diseases, colon cancer screening and colonic disorders, and acute and chronic liver disease. Dr. Munis values his time with patients. His care philosophy revolves around being an active listener and developing long-term relationships. He is deeply committed to delivering high-quality medical care.

Outside the office, he enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, playing tennis, and spending time with his family and friends. A native of Northern Virginia, Dr. Munis resides with his wife and daughter.
