About Brett D. Atwater, MD

As Inova Schar Heart and Vascular's Atrial Fibrillation D'Aniello Chair, Dr. Brett Atwater leads clinical research trials and provides world-class patient-centered care to an ever-increasing volume of patients, particularly older individuals with heart rhythm disorders. Dr. Atwater is also Inova's Electrophysiology section chief and board certified in electrophysiology, clinical cardiac electrophysiology, cardiovascular medicine and internal medicine. He joined Inova in 2020 and has been practicing since 2008.

Before joining Inova, Dr. Atwater was an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Department of Cardiology at Duke University in Durham, NC.
