About Elise R. Diamond, MD

Dr. Elise Diamond is a specialty care physician board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. She has been practicing since 2016.

Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Diamond was an obstetrics and gynecology physician at Reston Women's Center in Reston, VA.

Dr. Diamond is passionate about all aspects of women’s health. This includes caring for women across all stages of life, from the formative teen years, through childbearing and beyond into menopause. She believes in empowering women to be informed in order to improve their health and wellbeing. Her approach to pregnancy and childbirth can be described as a collaborative process, believing that less is more, as long as both mom and baby are safe and happy.

Dr. Diamond completed her master’s in public health at the University of South Florida in Tampa, where she published original research on maternal health.  She then went on to complete medical school at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. Her passion for advocacy in medical school led to co-authoring a resolution approved by the American Medical Association in support of improving justice for people living with HIV/AIDS.

She then moved from Florida to Washington, DC, for residency at Georgetown University and Washington Hospital Center. Her accomplishments in residency include acting as co-chief of medical student education, and she was awarded first place among her peers for her research on the prevention and prediction of postpartum hemorrhage.

Dr. Diamond’s interests outside of medicine include spending time with her husband, traveling, cycling and reading science fiction and history books.
