About Eric Sklar, MD
Dr. Eric Sklar is a neurologist who is board certified in neurology, sleep medicine, clinical neurophysiology and vascular neurology with more than 17 years of experience. He treats patients with a wide variety of neurological disorders, including sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome, narcolepsy, migraine headaches, dementia and epilepsy. He serves as Medical Director of the Inova Sleep Disorders Program.
Dr. Sklar is also an Assistant Professor at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, Inova Campus, having previously served in a similar role through the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine at the Inova Campus. Throughout his career, Dr. Sklar has stayed involved in teaching medical students and residents on various neurologically related medical topics. He has also served as the inaugural Clerkship Director for the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in neurology.
Dr. Sklar's goal is to help diagnose and manage his patients’ neurologic illnesses while keeping their symptoms at a minimum so they can remain functional in their family, personal, and professional lives. Favorite parts of his job include helping patients recover from their neurological ailments and teaching medical students.
He is a native of Montgomery County, MD, and resides in Potomac, MD, with his wife and three sons. He enjoys watching movies, local sports and spending time with his family.
