About Evangelia Tsapos, DO
Dr. Evangelia Tsapos is a third-year resident with the Fairfax Family Practice Residency Program. She completed her undergraduate degree at George Mason University and medical school at Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Her medical areas of interest include preventive medicine, integrative medicine and women's health. Dr. Tsapos was initially interested in the Fairfax Family Practice Residency Program because of the proximity to her family and her husband's work. However what sold her was her wonderful experience during her interview day. Everyone was warm and welcoming and made her feel at home. A big draw for her was the structure of the program in which residents spend their first year in inpatient rotations at Inova Fairfax Hospital and then transition to a smaller Inova hospital for the second and third years, thereby providing a broad educational experience. She also appreciated that the program emphasis on resident well being and the fact that the residents feel deeply supported by the faculty and staff is a true testament to this. She’s glad to have made FFP her home for residency and believes the combination of the curriculum and the strong support network will provide her with the tools to reach her full potential as a family physician.
Dr. Tsapos' non-medical areas of interest include hiking, running and biking (anything outdoors). She also enjoys hanging out with her husband and sweet dog Maddie, spending time with her family and friends and traveling.
