About James T. Dingess, FNP

James "Jimmy" Dingess is a board certified family nurse practitioner currently practicing cardiology. He joined Inova in 2023 and has been practicing as a registered nurse since 2014, and nurse practitioner since 2018.

James’ clinical areas of interest include Hyperlipidemia, familial hypercholesterolemia, atherosclerosis, longevity medicine, prediabetes, and Cardiometabolic disease.

Prior to joining Inova, James practiced at Winchester Cardiology and Vascular Medicine as a nurse practitioner from 2018 to 2023, serving as the Director of the Advanced Lipid Clinic during his tenure. During his practice in Winchester, James partnered with Valley Health System's clinic research department in a number of trials. During his cardiovascular practice, James has developed in-depth skills and knowledge in cardiology with a particular focus in atherosclerosis, cardiometabolic disease, and dyslipidemias.

James seeks to provide all patients with comprehensive and individualized care for his patients in the outpatient setting. He plans to continue to pursue clinical research on the treatment of lipid disorders, cardiometabolic health and resistant hypertension.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and two cats (Archie and Cleo).
