Dr. Jharna Mallik is a licensed clinical psychologist at Inova with more than 20 years of experience in the mental health field. She joined Inova Kellar Center in 2011 as a staff psychologist, bringing a deep commitment to the well-being of children, adolescents, and families.

Dr. Mallik earned her bachelor's degree in physiology/neurobiology and psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park, and her doctorate in clinical psychology from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. She completed her internship at the NYU-Rusk Institute for Rehabilitation in New York City and her residency at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She was recognized by the Council for the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology.

Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Mallik practiced at University of Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she managed a county-funded juvenile diversion program. Her work centered on the outpatient assessment and treatment of high-risk adolescent males presenting with diagnoses that included conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, mood disorders, adjustment disorder, and cognitive disabilities. She also provided psychoeducation on neuropsychological disorders and the relationship between brain function, cognition, and behavior.

At the Kellar Center, Dr. Mallik conducts comprehensive psychological and educational evaluations for children and adolescents, and provides individual therapy, family therapy, and parent training. She also facilitates a weekly executive functioning skills group for middle and high school students. Her integrative therapeutic approach draws from psychodynamic theory, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family systems, solution-focused therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), allowing her to tailor treatment to the unique needs of each individual and family. Her clinical expertise spans ADHD, learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder, family conflict, and mood and behavioral dysregulation. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Mallik serves as a clinical supervisor and mentor for doctoral candidates in clinical psychology.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Mallik treasures time with her husband and their three children. She enjoys traveling, reading, dancing, and being active outdoors.
