Joanne brings more than 18 years of clinical experience to her practice, including five years in critical care nursing before earning her graduate degree. She has been a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist since 2016, with particular expertise in cardiac, thyroid and parathyroid, and vascular surgery.

Joanne is deeply committed to compassionate, patient-centered care. She finds special fulfillment in meeting with patients before surgery, helping ease anxiety through a calm, precise and reassuring presence. In the operating room, her goal is to support a smooth, well-prepared procedure from start to finish through meticulous attention to detail and steady clinical care. She believes that a positive, lighthearted atmosphere in the operating room helps the entire team perform at its best.

Joanne is also dedicated to advancing her field through teaching and leadership. She has delivered a cardiac anesthesia lecture at Georgetown University and taught hands-on skills at Georgetown’s spinal and epidural workshop for student registered nurse anesthetists. She remains committed to lifelong learning and regularly stays current with the latest research and innovations in anesthesia care.

Joanne currently serves as chair of Inova’s Advanced Practice Provider Professional Governance Practice Integration Subcouncil. In this role, she collaborates with advanced practice providers across the Inova system to elevate the role of APPs and advocate for issues important to their professional practice.

Outside of work, Joanne enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with her husband and three children.
