Dr. Lily Nedda Dastmalchi is a cardiologist board certified in cardiovascular disease, echocardiography and internal medicine. She joined Inova in 2024 and has been practicing since 2018.
Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Dastmalchi completed her cardiology fellowship at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dr. Dastmalchi is committed to delivering a holistic, patient-centered approach to cardiovascular care. Her clinical interests include preventive cardiology, obesity medicine, cardio-obstetrics and women’s cardiovascular health. She specializes in cholesterol and hypertension management, nutrition education, calcium score interpretation and cardiometabolic risk assessment. As part of Inova’s women’s cardiovascular health section, Dr. Dastmalchi leads the menopause program, where she works alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalized care during this important stage of a woman’s life. She also focuses on managing cardiovascular risk in patients with pregnancy-related conditions such as gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, preeclampsia and postpartum cardiomyopathy.
Dr. Dastmalchi emphasizes the importance of patient autonomy and shared decision-making. She is passionate about educating her patients and guiding them to take control of their cardiovascular health through informed choices.
Using evidence-based medicine, Dr. Dastmalchi creates comprehensive and realistic care plans tailored to each patient's lifestyle and goals. She considers factors such as diet, physical activity, sleep, and stress and collaborates with patients to integrate lifestyle modifications and pharmacologic therapies when appropriate. Her goal is to ensure patients feel supported, empowered and confident in managing their cardiovascular health.
