Michelle, a native of Northern Virginia, graduated from George Mason University in 1999 and completed her master's degree in physical therapy at Marymount University in 2002. During that time she worked as a personal trainer, coach and a professional cheerleader and dancer for the Washington Commanders.
After completing her degree, Michelle started working at Georgetown University Hospital in acute care rehabilitation. Michelle joined Inova Physical Therapy Centers in 2003, specializing in aquatic therapy, orthopedics and manual therapy techniques. She completed multiple advanced education courses with Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars and the International Pain and Spine Institute; and became a Maitland Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist in 2009. She completed extensive training in myofascial release and dry needling and became a certified manual trigger point therapist in 2017. She continued specializing in clinical orthopedics and sports medicine and achieved a board-certification of Clinical Specialty in Orthopedic Physical Therapy in 2019.
Michelle is the Rehabilitation Clinical Coordinator at the Ashburn HealthPlex location. She holds an annual running clinic for the community and enjoys mentoring students. She is an active faculty member and mentor for the Inova Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program.
In addition to her teaching and mentoring for the residency she enjoys working with high level athletes. She has a special passion for injury prevention and wellness, running injuries and sports medicine. In her spare time she enjoys teaching group fitness classes, running, hiking and watching her boys play baseball, football and basketball. Michelle is passionate about instilling the core values of Inova to her team members.
Michelle resides in Loudoun County, Virginia, with her husband and three boys.
