About Michelle S. Abghari, MD

Dr. Michelle Abghari is a fellowship-trained breast surgeon. She joined Inova Health System in 2021 and has been practicing since 2014.

Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Abghari completed a fellowship in surgical breast oncology at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey in New Brunswick. Previously, she trained in general surgery at New York Medical College in Manhattan. She is originally from Detroit. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and went on to receive her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. 

Dr. Abghari currently resides in the Northern Virginia area with her husband and daughter. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and playing the piano.
