Dr. Azeem Khan is a specialty care physician board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. He joined Inova in 2026 and has been practicing since 2019.

Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Khan served as an assistant professor of medicine at Brown University, where he cared for patients with a broad range of cancers and was actively involved in medical education and clinical research. He subsequently completed an advanced hematology fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, where he pursued additional specialized training and further developed his clinical and research expertise in lymphoproliferative disorders.

Dr. Khan specializes in the care of patients with lymphoid cancers, and his clinical expertise includes lymphoma, cutaneous lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), multiple myeloma and other blood cancers. His research focuses primarily on Waldenström macroglobulinemia and mantle cell lymphoma, with an emphasis on understanding patient outcomes and improving treatment strategies.

Dr. Khan approaches patient care with open and honest communication, shared decision-making and ensures patients understand both their disease and treatment options. He is committed to providing individualized care informed by the latest clinical evidence and advances in the rapidly evolving field of hematologic oncology.

In his free time, Dr. Khan enjoys traveling, playing tennis and spending time outdoors.
