About Nandina Ustaris, PT, DPT

Rehabilitation Clinical Coordinator

Nandina graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science. She undertook a career change and pursued her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Marymount University. Prior to joining Inova, she worked in a skilled nursing facility. Nandina enjoys working with the older adult population and is particularly interested in geriatric wellness and bone health. She is focused in fall prevention and has run several community events with the Northern District of the Virginia Physical Therapy Association.

Nandina is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and Virginia Physical Therapy Association and has served on various committees. She is also a member of the Orthopedics and Geriatrics Sections of the APTA. She became a Senior Physical Therapist in 2014 and the Rehabilitation Clinical Coordinator for the Inova Physical Therapy Center at Inova Alexandria Hospital in 2018. She became a board-certified Clinical Specialist in orthopedic physical therapy in 2019. She is also a Certified Exercise Expert for Aging Adults.

Nandina has lived in several different countries growing up but considers Hawaii her home. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
