About Natalie Rakestraw, PT, DPT, OCS

Natalie Rakestrawm PT, DPT, OCS, joined the Inova Physical Therapy team in 2021. She graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Science degree in health sciences and a minor in nutrition. She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA, in 2009.

Prior to joining Inova, Natalie worked in a variety of settings in Boston and now locally with a focus in orthopedics and sports injuries. Her specialization in dance medicine and performing arts lead Natalie to work with the Washington Ballet for two years, and has also worked backstage at Ford’s Theatre, Shakespeare Theatre, and Arena Stage.

Natalie became an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2015, and has specialized training in dry needling and manual therapy. Natalie is also an APTA certified clinical instructor and enjoys working with and educating physical therapy students.

Natalie focuses on biomechanics, neuromuscular reeducation, functional retraining and patient education to address all realms of patient care and help her patients return to the things they love.

As a Fairfax, VA native, Natalie grew up in the area participating in many different athletics and currently she resides in Vienna, VA, with her husband and two children. In her spare times she enjoys cooking, running, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
