About Neerav Patel, MD

Dr. Neerav Patel is a specialty care physician board certified in general surgery. He joined Inova in 2025 and has been practicing since 2018.

Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Patel completed a fellowship in minimally invasive and complex gastrointestinal surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD.

Dr. Patel’s clinical interests include minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery, abdominal wall reconstruction, hernia surgery, and foregut surgery. He enjoys caring for adult patients and believes that the best surgical outcomes are achieved when physicians and patients work together as a team. Dr. Patel takes the time to listen and understand each patient’s goals—both for their immediate recovery and long-term health.

Whenever possible, he utilizes minimally invasive techniques for abdominal surgery, which can result in smaller incisions, reduced pain, faster recovery, and a quicker return to daily activities. His approach to care is holistic and personalized, aiming to provide safe and effective treatment tailored to each individual—whether that involves surgery or alternative therapies.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Patel enjoys skiing, sailing, and cooking.
