About Parvez M. Lokhandwala, MD, PhD

Dr. Parvez Lokhandwala is a specialty care physician board certified in clinical pathology, molecular genetic pathology and blood banking and transfusion medicine. He joined Inova in 2025 and has been practicing since 2012.

Dr. Lokhandwala has a primary role at Inova Laboratories, where he focuses on systems and quality-improvement projects that enhance operational efficiency and patient safety.

Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Lokhandwala directed the apheresis service at Johns Hopkins Hospital and was the Medical Director of the American Red Cross Biomedical Services in the MD and DC regions. He held several laboratory leadership roles in the University of Maryland Medical System including CLIA Medical Director of the NGS-enabled molecular diagnostic laboratory, CLIA Medical Director of the clinical laboratory at UM Rehab and Orthopaedic Institute, Medical Director of the blood and tissue banks, and Chair of the System Blood Bank and Transfusion Medicine Committee.
