Read Dr. Savoca’s Personal Statement Below

I wanted to be a surgeon because I have always wanted to work in a fast-paced, intellectually challenging environment. Caring for patients and performing surgery meets that desire. My career as a surgeon has given me great perspective on life and I want my patients to have an experience that inspires confidence and hope for a positive outcome. Being a doctor requires a vast fund of knowledge and I enjoy staying up-to-date by reading journals, attending national meetings and doing online tutorials. During my down time, I like spending time with my family, listening to classical music, studying Italian, traveling, gardening and golf. I thank my parents as they have influenced me in my career and life by teaching me the value of truth, honesty, hard work and commitment to family.
