About Rachel E. Modarelli, MD

Dr. Rachel Modarelli is a specialty care physician board certified in pediatrics. She joined Inova in 2025 and has been practicing since 2019.

Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Modarelli completed a pediatrics residency at Duke University Hospital from 2019 to 2022, followed by a pediatric endocrinology fellowship at the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill from 2022 to 2025.

Dr. Modarelli’s clinical areas of interest include pediatric diabetes mellitus, pediatric obesity, pediatric adrenal disorders, growth disorders, puberty disorders, bone health, congenital endocrine disorders, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, thyroid disorders and pituitary disorders associated with endocrinopathies.

Dr. Modarelli discovered her passion for pediatric endocrinology early in her medical journey and is thrilled to continue her path at Inova. She enjoys working with pediatric patients of all ages and is deeply committed to education, partnering with patients and their families to achieve their goals. Each patient interaction offers valuable learning opportunities, helping her grow in both experience and knowledge.

Outside of work, Dr. Modarelli loves spending time with her family, enjoying the outdoors and curling up with a good book.
