About Rachel Jenkins, LMSW

Rachel earned her Master's degree in social work from Rutgers University in 2013. She is a Licensed Social Worker in Virginia, a Certified Brain Injury Specialist and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Provider. She is currently a Social Work Resident, working towards clinical licensure.

Before joining Inova Mount Vernon Hospital in January of 2019, Rachel worked for a nationwide veteran nonprofit organization, in two different roles. She co-facilitated adventurous retreats for veterans and military couples, focused on resiliency and coping skills. She also worked with veterans that sustained severe traumatic brain injuries, providing connections to community resources and case management. Rachel has worked extensively with individuals that have experienced major life transitions, trauma, anxiety, depression and PTSD. She doesn't believe in a one size fits all model, but often works from a strengths-based or solution focused modality.
