About Ruth J. Velasquez, FNP

Ruth J. Velasquez is a family nurse practitioner with nursing experience dating back to 2016.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Ruth worked as a critical care registered nurse at Inova Fairfax Hospital, where she developed a strong clinical foundation caring for patients with complex medical conditions.

Ruth is passionate about preventive care and helping patients adopt healthy lifestyle habits to reduce their risk of chronic disease. She especially enjoys caring for underserved adults, individuals with limited access to healthcare resources, and those who face language barriers. She is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care while empowering patients through education and fostering trusting, long-term relationships.

Outside of work, Ruth enjoys reading, spending time with her husband, two children, and two fur babies, staying active, and enjoying the outdoors.
