About Sandy F. Ibrahim, MD

Dr. Ibrahim is a board-certified family physician specializing in primary care who has been part of the Inova VIP 360° team at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital since April 2015. Having practiced membership medicine for the better part of her career, she has built and nurtured such strong relationships with her patients that many of them feel like a part of her family.

Dr. Ibrahim has been practicing as a primary care provider in the Northern Virginia area since 2003. She attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. Upon graduation, Dr. Ibrahim did her internship and residency at Providence hospital in Southfield, Michigan.

Her medical career includes multiple research projects at both Henry Ford Hospital and the University of Michigan Medical Center. She is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Ibrahim is heavily involved in the local chapter of the international children’s medical relief agency (PCRF).

Dr. Ibrahim believes strongly that preventive medicine is the key: "Catching pink flags before they turn red is what I practice and preach every day to my patients."

She continues, "I know my patients on a deep and personal level and genuinely care about every aspect of their physical health and mental well being. When you call my office, I know exactly who you are. Many of my patients travel and lead very busy lifestyles. If it’s easier to talk it out over the phone or chat over email instead of an office visit, sometimes we can handle issues right on the spot."

Dr. Ibrahim believes that "you should always be able to think of your family doctor as your advocate, and that is what I strive with each and every patient encounter. Guiding my patients towards the healthiest life possible, given their set of circumstances, is my goal. We will navigate life's challenges, whether emotional or physical, together and with full effort."
