Dr. Syed Ahmad Adil is a specialty care physician board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He joined Inova in 2026 and has been practicing since 2023.

Dr. Adil is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care for adults with a wide range of digestive and liver conditions. He believes building long-term relationships with patients is one of the most rewarding aspects of medicine and strives to ensure every patient feels heard, respected and is treated like family. He welcomes new patients and values open communication, shared decision making and preventive care as the foundation of lifelong digestive health.

Dr. Adil earned his medical degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo. He completed his residency in internal medicine at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University, where he became board certified in internal medicine, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology at Henry Ford Health.

He was drawn to gastroenterology because it offers a unique opportunity to combine thoughtful diagnostic problem solving with minimally invasive procedures while building lasting relationships with patients.

His clinical interests include colorectal cancer screening and prevention, gastroesophageal reflux disease, eosinophilic esophagitis, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, chronic liver disease, functional gastrointestinal and motility disorders, and diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Adil enjoys traveling, watching sports and spending quality time with his family.
