Traci Marin is a certified nurse midwife. She joined Inova in 1998 as a registered nurse in the cardiac step-down unit at Inova Fairfax Hospital and rejoined in 2025 as a certified nurse midwife. She has been practicing as a midwife since 2011.
Prior to her current role, Traci was a hospitalist certified nurse midwife at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital in Richmond, VA. Before becoming a certified nurse midwife, Traci worked as a registered nurse for 15 years. She specialized in cardiac, emergency, ICU and obstetrical nursing, and worked in hospital administration. She graduated with the highest honors from Frontier Nursing University with her master’s in nursing and her certificate in nursing midwifery. She serves as an enthusiastic preceptor to nurse practitioner and certified nurse midwife students.
Traci specializes in prenatal care, births, annual exams, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), contraception (including IUDs and diaphragm fittings) and common problems in women’s health. She emphasizes practical approaches to health concerns. Her goal is for you to feel welcome, valued and respected, and to walk away feeling like part of the family. She prefers for you to be forthright about your healthcare priorities, so she can focus on what is most important to you. Traci welcomes her patients to bring a list of their questions, so each one can be addressed and not forgotten. She believes that no question is too large or small.
If you are pregnant, Traci strives to support you throughout each phase. She can attend the birth of your baby at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital - whether you desire an unmedicated birth or an epidural. Her goal is for you and your partners to feel safe, calm, confident, respected, and unrushed as you welcome your newborn baby. Traci will also assist with initial breastfeeding as needed and is readily available by phone in the immediate postpartum. She has two children, ages 21 and 24. She knows exactly how pregnancy, birth and raising a family can cause conflicting feelings of anxiety and joy.
