Dr. Tripti Kumar is a primary care physician board certified in internal medicine and obesity medicine. She joined Inova in 2026 and has been practicing since 2022.

Dr. Kumar completed her internal medicine residency at Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, PA, after earning her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Tufts University School of Medicine. Prior to joining Inova, she practiced as a primary care physician with Main Line HealthCare outside Philadelphia, providing comprehensive adult care with a strong emphasis on preventive medicine, obesity management, and patient education.

Dr. Kumar has a strong academic foundation and diverse clinical experience in both outpatient and inpatient care. Her practice centers on prevention, metabolic health, and evidence-based obesity medicine, with the goal of preventing disease before it develops. Her approach to care is collaborative and patient-centered, focusing on clear communication and preventive strategies tailored to each patient’s medical, social, and lifestyle needs.

Dr. Kumar’s academic background includes multiple peer-reviewed publications and national conference presentations on pulmonary medicine, infectious disease, autoimmune disorders, cardiovascular risk, and COVID-19.

In her free time, Dr. Kumar enjoys working out, cooking, and spending time with her family - activities that keep her grounded, support her own wellness, and bring balance to her life outside of medicine.
