A New England native, Dr. Bernard grew up in New Hampshire. She studied at Boston University, where she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees, before heading west to attend California Northstate University College of Medicine. Upon graduation, she returned to Boston to complete her general surgery residency at Boston Medical Center Brighton. She now joins Inova Fair Oaks Hospital for fellowship training in bariatric surgery. She is passionate about patient education, believing that informed patients are empowered to make the best decisions for their long-term success.
