Why spiritual care?
Illness, injury or trauma can challenge our sense of meaning, faith and strength. In these moments, chaplains provide compassionate, nonjudgmental support to patients, their loved ones and team members—of any background or religious belief, including those without an identified faith.
Contact spiritual care if you need:
- Someone to talk to
- Emotional and spiritual support
- Assistance with religious or spiritual needs
- Prayers, blessings, meditations, guided imagery
- Support for loved ones

Chaplains are available Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For urgent needs outside these hours, a healthcare team member can help you reach the on-call chaplain.
A calming space for all
An interfaith chapel, a dedicated prayer and reflection space, can be found at each Inova hospital. These spaces are open 24/7 for personal reflection, prayer or spiritual practice.
