Requirements to become a volunteer
- Commit to one, 3 – 4 hour shift per week for a minimum of 6 months
- Complete and pass a background check
- Complete 2 rounds of tuberculosis screening OR 1 tuberculosis blood test
- Provide confirmation of receiving the MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella (Chickenpox), Tdap for Pertussis (Whooping Cough) vaccines OR proof of immunity via titer
- Receive a flu vaccine (if onboarding during flu season)
- Attend an orientation session
- Photo ID
Upcoming application windows
Applications are reviewed during designated registration periods throughout the calendar year. Before applying, please be sure you’ll be available to attend the corresponding mandatory orientation session and meet the attendance requirement of serving one, 3-4 hour shift per week for a minimum of six months. You’ll begin volunteering within one week of the mandatory training class.
July registration: July 13-15, 2026
Registration opens at 10 a.m. on July 13 and closes at 10 a.m. on July 15.
- Mandatory virtual information meet and greet sessions: July 20, 10-11:15 a.m. OR July 21, 4-5:15 p.m.
- Mandatory training class: August 20, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Session start date: August 24
